I'm a trauma-focused psychotherapist with a virtual practice based in Los Angeles, CA. Since obtaining my master of social work from Columbia University over 15 years ago, I’ve had the privilege of counseling people of varying backgrounds and with diverse needs. I was also, for some time, a faculty member in the social work graduate program at California State University, Fullerton, training future therapists and social workers. Prior to starting my private practice, I provided mental health services in New York City schools and hospitals.

As a woman of color, child immigrant, and proud ally, I’ve dedicated my clinical career to empowering diverse populations, particularly those from marginalized communities. I care deeply about social justice, giving voice to the voiceless, and defending human rights. These core beliefs are some of the reasons why my practice focuses on people of color and those in the LGBTQ community. I am also passionate about working with individuals who have experienced trauma, whether it be from childhood abuse/neglect, sexual assault, domestic violence, or from systemic oppression.

So what’s it like to work with me? My therapeutic style is grounded in curiosity, pragmatism, and compassion. It can include a little humor with a touch of colorful language at times. As a naturally curious person, I have a genuine desire to understand and explore your unique experiences and perspectives so you can expect lots of questions to help you learn more about yourself. You can also expect a direct and straight-forward approach - I’m committed to providing honest and transparent feedback so that we can cut through the noise and get to the heart of the matter. Alongside providing support, I offer psycho-education to empower you with valuable insights, practical tools, and to help you connect the dots. Working with me will allow you to have a therapeutic journey that is both meaningful and transformative, where we will work collaboratively to navigate your complexities and discover your unique path to well-being.
