My approach is a blend of deep, insightful talk therapy and active nervous system work. This means we have a space to process the day to day stressors of your life while also doing the deeper work to make sure those stressors stop hitting so hard.
How We Work Together
Relational Talk Therapy
This is the space where we look at the patterns in your life, your relationships, and your career. We talk about the things that are weighing you down right now. I’m not a therapist who just sits back and nods. I am in it with you, offering feedback, a bit of wit, and the perspective you need to see your situation from a different angle. This is where we build the strategies you need to navigate your world with more ease.
The EMDR Path
Sometimes talking is not enough because your body is still holding onto an old story. We use EMDR to target the specific memories or triggers that keep you in a state of high alert. This allows us to move beyond just understanding your past and start actually releasing the grip it has on your present.
Identity and Autonomy
You shouldn’t have to give your therapist a crash course on your life. Whether we’re discussing the nuances of queer identity, the pressures to validate your parents' sacrifices through your own perfection, or the dynamics of non-monogamy, I provide a space where your lived experience is the given truth. We focus on your growth without the extra labor of you having to be the teacher.
